A great introduction

“A great introduction to the Barossa’s food philosophy & producers. I would consider myself almost a regular at the markets yet I still learnt so much. I loved getting to meet the producers & hear their stories. And Jess is such a warm, friendly, down-to-earth host who really knows her stuff. I had my dear 80yr old mother with me and Jess went out of her way to engage her in the tour. The Barossa Farmers Market is not to be missed. This tour really enriches the experience and takes it to another level. Highly recommended. Thanks Jess.”

Great experience

“Such a great experience shared with some friends. A great way to learn the history of the market, the stall holders and learn about the whole Paddock to Plate experience.. Jess was very knowledgeable, and her passion for the market and the Barossa was great.”

What to expect.

Expect a tasty and entertaining introduction to the best of the Barossa’s food culture!

Expect to be entertained, to learn a few foodie secrets and to feel a sense of genuine connection to the Barossa.

Our Farmers Market Tours start at 8.30am from the front of the Barossa Farmers Market just in front of the Information Booth - look for our blackboard sign. If it’s raining, we’ll be just inside the Market Shed at the Information Booth (if you’re unsure, any Market stallholder will be able to point you in the right direction). Jess will be waiting there to meet you.

Our Tours go for approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour depending on the chat level, and include a variety of tastings of local produce. You’ll meet stallholders and hear their stories of perseverance and triumph, and usually a favourite recipe or insider’s tip.

The Barossa Farmers Market is undercover so our Tours proceed rain, hail or shine - lucky us!

The Tours are suitable for all fitness levels (there are some uneven surfaces inside the Market).

Your Tour includes a high quality calico shopping bag, and our local recommendations for picnic spots, and tips on how to create the ultimate Barossa tasting picnic.
